Anyhow, here's everything from the show. If you're a diligent follower of this silly blog o' mine (like I know you ALL are.... RIGHT???? ;) ), then you'll probably notice that 2 of the pieces are from earlier this year, but I included them in this group too because I thought they were a good fit.
Also, totally apologize if you've seen these elsewhere already. I try to space out the timing on the sites that I post stuff on so that it's not one huge annoying barrage of multi-posts all at the same time. There are WAY too many things to update now. I'm still waiting for someone to invent a site that will compile all of this social networking blahblah into one area... or does something like this already exist and I am just too out of touch to know about it?
Anyhoo... one big long picture post coming right up:
Piece 1: "The Things We Have Lost"

("meh" to this framed shot. I need a better pic of this one. boo.)Piece 2: "Passiflora Ballerina"

Piece 3: "What Magic We Made"

Piece 4: "Saying Goodbye"

Piece 5: "Letting Go"

Piece 6: "Breakdown"

Thanks SO much to those of you who came out to the opening - it was super great to meet a lot of new people and to put faces to names of people I've met here on the interwebs. And, if you couldn't make it out and you'd still like to check out the full show with Jimmy Pickering's work, you can hop over to Rivet's site and take a look! The show will be hanging at Rivet through the 29th of this month.
:)

Congrats! Wonderful pieces!!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings :)
I would like to see a whole series starring the Tuba skeleton.
ReplyDeleteThe "Breakdown" piece, is that graphite or paint? I really, really like that one.
Sorry I couldn't make it out that weekend to see it.
www.HootSuite.com ... It's how I manage all of my social media posts.
ReplyDeleteSo nice! Are the majority of your paintings acrylic? Really like "What Magic We Made"! The glowing/magic effect is very well done.
ReplyDeletethanks, everyone :)
ReplyDeletejack, "breakdown" is graphite. and i'm actually sort of surprised by how many people responded to that piece... it seemed to be one of the favorites.
johnny, yes - they are all acrylics. i've been thinking of dabbling into oils sometime soon, butttt...... i don't know. we shall see. ;)
and thanks to whoever recommended hootsuite. i'm definitely going to check that out!
